生物产业蓬勃发展，风投云集波士顿、旧金山

2015年2月14日讯/生物谷BIOON/--近年来生命科学产业的飞速发展吸引了众多投资者的目光。2014年刚过，来自PricewaterhouseCoopers公司和美国风险投资协会的分析师们对去年投放在生命科学领域的资金进行了评估。结果发现，2014年进入该领域的风险投资金额已经达到了86亿美元，仅次于2007年。其中在生物技术产业领域投资金额达到了60亿美元，比2013年飙升了29%之多。以2014年第四季度为例，风投公司向生命科学公司投入的首次投资金额就超过了4亿美元，比去年同时期增加了35%；而追加投资则达到了24亿美元，增长了超过50%之多。据统计数据显示，2014年生命科学领域全年吸收的首次投资额达到了11亿美元，上涨了25%；追加操作达到了75亿美元，上涨了29%。可以说，2014年生物医药产业已经成为了最受投资者青睐的行业之一。
而作为美国传统的生命科学中心，旧金山湾区和波士顿都吸引了数目巨大的风投资金。同样以第四季度为例，波士顿在这三个月中达成了32项投资案，资金总额达到了9亿5千9百万美元。其中9亿2千8百万美元的资金流入生物技术类公司，剩余的3100万美元则用于支持医疗器械类公司的发展。而旧金山湾区则以8亿3千9百万美元的成绩屈居榜眼。
来自PricewaterhouseCoopers公司的GregVlahos介绍说，风投公司在2014年第二季度开始加大向生命科学产业的投资，而这一增长趋势一致持续到了2014年第四季度，因此我们有理由认为2015年生物医药产业仍将吸引更多的风投资金。此外，在传统的生物医药公司外，医疗器械研发商也获得了众多风险投资公司的青睐。这些资金将有助于加快生物医药行业的整体发展。

2014felljustshortof2007with$8.6billioninvestedintheentirelifesciencessector(combiningbiotechandmedtech).Biotechventurefundingalonejumpedto$6billion,a29%spikeoverahealthy2013,whentheindustryboomwasbeginningtotakeshapeastheIPOwindowfinallycrankedallthewayopenafteralongfallowperiod.
Zeroinginonjustthefourthquarter,venturegroupsput$403millionintofirst-timefundingforlifesciencescompanies,anincreaseof35%.Buttheyearofferedabonanzaatjustabouteverylevel,withfollow-onfundingsoaring51%to$2.4billioninthefourthquarter.Forthefullyearfirst-timefundinghit$1.1billion,up25%,whilefollow-onfundingrose29%to$7.5billion.
WhileSanFranciscohasoftenoutrankedBostonintermsofquarterlybiotechinvesting,therewasnomistakingwherethebulkofthecashheadedinthefinalthreemonthsoftheyear.
Bostontoppedallthebiglifescienceclusters,with$959millionin32dealsduringthequarter;$928milliongoingintobiotechnologyandtheremaining$31millioninvestedinmedicaldevices.TheSanFranciscoBayAreacameinasacloserunner-up,capturing$839million.TheBigApplecameinasurprisingthirdplace,with$175million,whileResearchTrianglegained$127millionandChicagomadethecutwith$90millioninvested.Equallysurprisingly,SanDiegodidntlandaspotinthetop5.
